History of beer Leffe

The Abbey of Our Lady of Leffe was founded in 1152 in the south of Belgium. Like many monasteries throughout Europe, the canons of the abbey brewed beer, beginning in 1240.

In 1952, beer production continued after a partnership with the Lootvoet brewery in Overijse. This brewery was later bought by the international beer company Interbrew

All brands Leffe are now brewed at the Stella Artois brewery in Leuven.
