History of beer Estrella del Sur
In June 1954 authorization was granted to build a new brewery in Seville, and two years later Industrial Cervecera Sevillana S. A. was established. (ICSSA), founded by a group of Andalusian shareholders and the company Damm. This was the beginning of the production of a new beer called Estrella del Sur . It Estrella del Sur enters into direct competition with Cruz del Campo (Cruzcampo), which in 1975 reaches an agreement with Damm, to integrate it as a brand in its brewing group, modernising its installations and increasing its production.
Twenty years later, it was decided to close the factory on the outskirts of Seville, centralizing production at the former central factory of La Cruz del Campo, dating from 1904. At the beginning of the new century, it is once Estrella del Sur again part of the portfolio of beers of the S group. A. Damm.
