History of Moretti Beer

Birra Moretti was founded in 1859 by Luigi Moretti in Udine. Its foundation is inspired by the story of the Osborne brothers, creators of Cruzcampo (Seville), with whom they fell in love when they were in Spain . The first bottles were put on sale in 1860. Initially, it was expected that the company would produce enough to satisfy the provincial demand, although it was so successful that in 1996 it was sold to Heineken International, the current owner of the brand. Moretti beer is one of the best-selling beers in Italy and is very famous abroad.
