History of San Miguel Beer

San Miguel was born in 1890 from a dream of a group of Spaniards who decided to open a brewery in South East Asia (a place where beer was almost unknown)

They were successful and in 1930 they decided to expand and find out if their beer would please people from other places. They crossed over to the United States.

In 1954 they decided to return to their lands (Spain) to continue with their company and keep growing. They opened a factory in Lleida and in 1957 the Manila Agreement was signed with the president of San Miguel Corporation, thus giving birth to the company "San Miguel, Fábricas de Cerveza y Malta, S.A.".

In 1966 he opened his factory in Malaga, where he achieved great recognition and sales.

From the year 2000 and until today the San Miguel group is united with Mahou creating the first national capital brewery group.
